It’s September, say it with me, September. Can you believe it? This year has steamed past. Abbie and Ratul’s celebration beautifully combines tradition, rustic, and modern. It was one of my favourites from the summer.
Two day’s for two different ceremonies to take place. A country venue with a difference, with views of the Yorkshire dale all around, it can only be Kilnsey Estate.
Kilnsey, is just a dream. I’ve photographed here before, but not a wedding and BOY, was I in for a dream. Abbie and Ratul’s ceremony took place in a field, under the sky, with views of moorland behind.
Abbie got ready onsite in the stone barn, a handy short walk from the ceremony. My day started scoping out the weather, the forecast was rain. This didn’t really make me nervous as I know how fun and enigmatic photos in the rain can be. (Of course I got to hang out with all the animals) The morning really took off at the barn, with Abbie and her friends getting ready, a few nerves, but plenty of laughs too and lovely moments too. Definitely added to with the presence of young ones, who stay chirpy and don’t really know why everyone’s acting nervy! Abbie gave her bridesmaids lovely bundles, filled with self care and sentimental gifts.
The ceremony was littered with personal touches, all those things that make a couple A COUPLE. That brings them together. There was singing, umbrellas, laughs, cheers, and much more! Hosted and performed by the wonderful Louisa of ceremonies. Highlights included singing Africa by toto in a rainy field in Yorkshire, a bit of Elton John, and Beautiful readings from friends. It was so much fun!
When it rains it pours! I know no couple wants to hear the words wedding day and rain BUT if you smile (get wellies ready) it can really be a big part of your day! When it’s your day, it goes past so quickly, you really don’t care. This wedding really proves, rain or shine your wedding day is what it is because of those loved ones around you, your family and friends, making it the best day of your life!
Not letting that pesky (very British) summer weather stop us, a cheers to the this wonderful couple was next. The whole day was filled with laughter, games, and love.
Seriously, the whole backdrop is beautiful. I love living in the Yorkshire Dales, the country side and it’s rustic charm. Now I’m also prone to a festival wedding like Abbie and Ratul’s was. There was giant jenga, connect four, croquet, cricket, so many games! With everyone taking part. Now we are on the subject of games …THE DRINKING GAMES, we’re unreal! Beer pong for the bridge, groom and all their closest pals. Every table had a drinking game name. The food was warm and delicious (thanks to shoot the bull!, YUM) A street food style set up, the food was amazing. Later on pizza to keep everyone’s energy levels high. A Dj and wonderful acoustics that got everyone singing and swaying.
